INGREDIENTS
Seafood
- 🦑 1 squid (200g)
Vegetables
- 8 frozen taro pieces
- 1 piece ginger
Seasonings
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp Japanese dashi powder
- đź’§ 150 ml water
STEPS
Remove the squid's guts and tentacles from the body. Take out the cartilage from the body. Cut the tentacles below the eyes, remove the beak and tips. Wash the body and tentacles. Slice the body into 1cm rings and cut the tentacles into pairs.
Peel the ginger and slice it thinly.
In a pot, combine the seasoning ingredients (sugar, sake, mirin, soy sauce, dashi powder, and water) with the ginger. Heat over medium heat and add the frozen taro. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
Add the squid and simmer for 5 minutes.
