INGREDIENTS
Vegetables
- 300g daikon radish, cut into 2cm slices
- Chopped green onion, as needed
Seasonings
- 150ml water
- 1 tbsp sake
- 🍬 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
STEPS
Cut the daikon radish in half lengthwise, then slice into 2cm thick pieces.
In a pot, combine the daikon radish with all seasonings except soy sauce. Heat on low until simmering, cover, and cook for 6–7 minutes.
Uncover, add soy sauce, and cook covered for another 6–7 minutes. Then uncover and simmer on medium heat until the liquid reduces, about 3–5 minutes.
Plate the daikon radish and garnish with chopped green onion.
