INGREDIENTS

- 🌰 1 cup dried chickpeas
- 3 pieces kombu (4x4 cm)
Seasonings
- đź§‚ 1 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2-3 tbsp corn syrup
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
STEPS
Rinse 1 cup of dried chickpeas and soak them in water for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
Cook the soaked chickpeas in the same water for 20-30 minutes until tender.
Add 3 pieces of kombu (4x4 cm) to the pot and bring to a boil. Remove the kombu once boiling and cover the pot to simmer for 15 minutes.
Drain excess water until the chickpeas and water are at the same level.
Add 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp mirin, 1 tbsp vegetable oil, and 4 tbsp soy sauce to the pot. Cook over medium heat until the sauce reduces.
Add 2-3 tbsp corn syrup and adjust seasoning with soy sauce if needed. Sprinkle sesame seeds before serving.
