INGREDIENTS
Rice
- 🍚 4 bowls cooked rice (600g)
Protein
- 🍗 1 chicken breast (250g)
Seasoning
- Minced red ginger, as needed
- Roasted seaweed, as needed
- 1 tbsp sake
- đź§‚ Salt and pepper, as needed
- Potato starch, as needed
- 🌰 White sesame seeds, as needed
Sauce
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- đź§‚ 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp grated ginger
Oil
- 3 tbsp salad oil
STEPS
Mince the red ginger.
Mix the sauce ingredients (sake, mirin, sugar, soy sauce, grated ginger) in a bowl.
Cut the chicken breast into 8 equal pieces. Mix the chicken with sake, salt, and pepper in a bowl, then let it sit for 5 minutes. Coat the chicken pieces with potato starch.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken pieces, turning occasionally, until cooked through and golden brown. Remove from the pan.
Wipe the pan clean and add the sauce mixture. Heat until bubbling, then add the fried chicken pieces and coat them evenly with the sauce.
Place warm rice on a piece of plastic wrap and shape into a ball. Add a piece of sauced chicken and minced red ginger on top. Wrap the sides with roasted seaweed and sprinkle white sesame seeds.
