INGREDIENTS
Meat
- 🐖 200g thinly sliced pork belly
Seafood
- 2 pieces (120g) hanpen
Vegetables
- 1 shiso leaf
Condiments
- 1/2 tbsp salad oil
- 🧂 A pinch of salt and pepper
Sauce
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 🍬 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 🧂 1 tbsp soy sauce
STEPS
Cut the hanpen into 4 equal vertical slices.
Season both sides of the pork belly with salt and pepper. Place a slice of hanpen on the pork and roll it tightly from one end. Repeat to make 8 rolls.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the rolls seam-side down and cook, turning occasionally, until browned.
Add the sauce ingredients (sake, mirin, sugar, soy sauce) to the pan and simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the rolls.
Serve the rolls on a plate with a shiso leaf garnish.
