INGREDIENTS
Rice
- 🍚 2 bowls cooked rice (400g)
Meat
- 🐖 200g thinly sliced pork belly
Cheese / Dairy
- 🧀 4 sticks string cheese
Coating
- Cornstarch as needed
Seasoning
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1/2 tbsp salad oil
Sauce
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 🍬 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 🧂 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp grated ginger
STEPS
Insert a stick of string cheese into a split chopstick. Repeat for 4 sticks.
Divide the rice into 4 portions and spread each on plastic wrap. Place the cheese stick on top and wrap into a stick shape.
Wrap the pork slices around the rice sticks. Repeat for all 4 sticks and coat with cornstarch.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the sticks and cook, turning, until browned evenly.
Add sake, cover the pan, and cook on low heat for 2 minutes to cook the pork thoroughly.
Add the sauce ingredients and simmer until the sticks are coated evenly.
