INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 200g fish cake
- 250g konjac
- 1/2 stalk green onion
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- đź§„ 1 tbsp minced garlic
Seasoning Sauce
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp corn syrup
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- đź’§ 5 tbsp water
- Pinch of pepper
Final Touch
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Sprinkle of sesame seeds
STEPS
Cut konjac into small cubes and score a crisscross pattern. Optionally skip this step.
Cut fish cake into bite-sized pieces.
Slice green onion into similar sizes as fish cake. You can substitute green onion with shishito peppers.
Mix all seasoning sauce ingredients in a bowl. Optionally add chili powder for extra spice.
Blanch fish cake in boiling water to remove excess oil and additives.
Blanch konjac in the same water with 1 tbsp vinegar to remove its odor.
Rinse blanched konjac under cold water for 1 minute.
Heat a pan over medium heat, add cooking oil and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
Add konjac to the pan, pour the prepared sauce, and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add fish cake and cook for another 3 minutes.
Add green onion and 1 tbsp water, then simmer for 1 minute to soften the green onion.
Finish with sesame oil and sesame seeds. Adjust seasoning if needed.
