    • 20g pickled ginger, chopped

    • 20g tempura flakes
    • As needed salad oil
  • Batter

    • 200g all-purpose flour
    • 🥚 3 eggs
    • đź’§ 600ml water
    • 1 tsp dashi powder
  • Toppings

    • As needed okonomiyaki sauce
    • As needed bonito flakes
    • As needed aonori (seaweed powder)

STEPS

Cut the squid into bite-sized pieces.

Chop the green onions and pickled ginger into small pieces.

In a bowl, mix eggs, water, and dashi powder. Add flour and mix until smooth to create the batter.

Heat a takoyaki pan and lightly grease it with salad oil. Pour batter to half the height of each mold.

Add green onions, pickled ginger, tempura flakes, and squid pieces. Pour more batter to overflow the molds.

Cook for 3–5 minutes until golden brown. Push the overflowed batter into the molds and rotate the balls halfway.

Pour remaining batter and cook for another 3 minutes, rotating to form round balls.

Once fully cooked and golden brown, serve on a plate. Top with okonomiyaki sauce, bonito flakes, and aonori.
