INGREDIENTS
Wrapper
- 5 spring roll wrappers
Main Ingredients
- 1 hanpen (fish cake)
- 5 salted sakura blossoms
- 🌱 6 snap peas
Oil
- Enough salad oil for frying
Filling Seasoning
- 2 tsp sake
- đź§‚ 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp potato starch
Sealing Mixture
- 1 tsp all-purpose flour
- đź’§ 1 tsp water
STEPS
Soak the salted sakura blossoms in water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess salt, then pat them dry.
Remove the strings from the snap peas and slice them diagonally into 1 cm pieces.
In a bowl, tear the hanpen into small pieces and mash it. Add the snap peas and the filling seasonings (sake, salt, and potato starch) and mix well.
Place the filling and one sakura blossom onto a spring roll wrapper. Wrap tightly and seal the edges with the flour-water mixture.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan to 170°C (340°F). Fry the spring rolls until golden brown.
