Simple Stir-fried Radish with Perilla Powder

  • Vegetables

    • 1/5 radish, sliced thinly
    • đź§… 1/3 stalk green onion, chopped
  • Seasonings

    • 1 tbsp perilla powder
    • đź§„ 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
    • 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
    • 3 tbsp perilla oil
    • đź§‚ 1/2 tbsp salt
    • đź’§ 2-3 small cups water

STEPS

Wash the radish thoroughly and peel the surface using a peeler.

Slice the radish thinly using a knife or slicer.

Heat 3 tbsp of perilla oil in a pan and sauté 1/2 tbsp minced garlic for about 10 seconds.

Add the sliced radish to the pan and stir-fry. Immediately add 1/2 tbsp salt and continue to stir-fry.

Optionally, add 1/2 tbsp soy sauce for a slightly savory taste.

Mix the seasonings well and stir-fry until evenly coated.

Add 1 small cup of water and cook until the radish becomes translucent. If water evaporates before the radish is cooked, add another cup.

When the water is almost absorbed, add 1 tbsp perilla powder and stir well.

Taste and adjust seasoning with salt if needed. Turn off the heat and mix in the chopped green onion.
