Simmered Daikon and Konjac

INGREDIENTS

  • Vegetables

    • 10cm (300g) daikon, cut into 2cm cubes
    • 1 piece (250g) konjac, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • Seasoning

    • 1 tsp sesame oil
    • 1 tbsp sake
    • 2 tbsp mirin
    • 🍬 1/2 tbsp sugar
    • 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1/3 tsp Japanese dashi powder
    • 💧 100ml water

STEPS

Cut the daikon into 2cm cubes. Tear the konjac into bite-sized pieces by hand.

Heat a frying pan over medium heat and dry-fry the konjac until its surface is dry. Add the daikon and all the seasoning ingredients (☆). Bring to a boil, cover with a lid, and simmer over low heat for 7–8 minutes.

Add sesame oil and mix well before serving.
