INGREDIENTS
Chicken
- 🍗 200g chicken tenderloin, trimmed
Vegetables
- 8 shiso leaves
Cheese / Dairy
- đź§€ 2 slices melting cheese
Condiments
- 1 pickled plum, pitted and mashed
- 1/2 tbsp salad oil
Seasoning
- 1 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- đź§‚ 1 tbsp soy sauce
STEPS
Trim the stems off the shiso leaves.
Cut the melting cheese slices in half.
Pit the pickled plum and mash it roughly with a knife.
Place chicken tenderloin under plastic wrap and flatten it with the base of your palm. Lay 2 shiso leaves slightly overlapping, place half a slice of cheese on top, and roll tightly from the edge. Repeat for all pieces.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium-low heat. Place the rolled chicken seam-side down and cook for 1 minute. Rotate to brown evenly and cook through.
Add sake, mirin, soy sauce, and mashed plum to the pan. Stir and heat until the sauce thickens.
