Remove seeds and pulp from the pumpkin, cut into bite-sized pieces, and place in a microwave-safe container. Add 1 tbsp water, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 4–5 minutes until soft.

Drain the water, let the pumpkin cool slightly, and remove the skin. Mash until smooth.

In a saucepan, combine mashed pumpkin, sugar, and salt. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Add 1 tbsp milk and mix well.
