Pork Belly Simmered in Ponzu Sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • Meat

    • 200g pork belly block
  • Vegetables

    • 150g daikon radish
    • 1/2 stalk green onion
    • 1 slice ginger
  • Oil

    • 1 tsp salad oil
  • Seasoning

    • 2 tbsp sake
    • 1/2 tbsp sugar
    • 70cc ponzu soy sauce
    • 300cc water

Cut daikon radish into 1.5cm slices, peel thickly, and quarter. Separate green onion into white and green parts. Slice the white part thinly and soak in water for 5 minutes, then drain. Slice ginger thinly.

Cut pork belly into 4 equal pieces.

Heat salad oil in a pan and sear pork belly on all sides over medium heat until browned.

Mix seasoning ingredients in the rice cooker pot. Add pork belly, daikon, green onion (both green and white parts), and ginger. Start normal cooking mode.

Once cooked, stir gently and leave on warm mode for 1 hour.

Serve on a plate and garnish with sliced white onion.
