INGREDIENTS
Meat
- 2 sirloin steaks (about 8 oz each)
Seasoning
- 🧂 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 🧈 1 tbsp unsalted butter
Optional Garnish
- 🧄 1 clove garlic, smashed
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
STEPS
Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until smoking hot. Add olive oil to the pan.
Place the steaks in the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Avoid moving the steaks while they sear.
Add butter, garlic, and rosemary to the pan. Tilt the skillet slightly and use a spoon to baste the steaks with the melted butter for about 1-2 minutes.
Remove the steaks from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
