INGREDIENTS
Beef
- 🥩 2 filet mignons, 6–8 oz each
Butter
- 🧈 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Seasonings
- 🧂 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 🌿 1 sprig fresh rosemary
STEPS
Take the filet mignon out of the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature.
Season the steaks on both sides with salt and black pepper.
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp of butter.
Sear the steaks for 3–4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust for your preferred doneness.
In the last minute of cooking, add the remaining butter and rosemary to the pan, and spoon the melted butter over the steaks.
Remove steaks from the pan and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
