INGREDIENTS

- 🐟 1 can (190g) canned mackerel in water
- 🧅 1/2 onion (100g), sliced thinly
- 1/3 tsp Japanese dashi powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp miso paste
- 💧 300ml water
Garnish
- 🧅 Chopped green onion, to taste
STEPS
Slice the onion into thin slices, about 5mm wide.
Drain the canned mackerel and roughly flake the fish.
In a pot, add dashi powder and water, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Add the mackerel and onion, cover, and simmer on low heat for 4–5 minutes.
Turn off the heat and dissolve the miso paste into the soup. Heat gently over medium heat until just before boiling.
Serve in bowls and garnish with chopped green onion.
