    • 1 cup vegetable oil

    • 1 cup prunes, pitted and chopped
    • 1 ½ cups chopped pecans
  • Topping

    • Âľ cup butter
    • 🥛 Âľ cup buttermilk
    • 1 ½ teaspoons dark corn syrup
    • đź§‚ 1 ½ cups white sugar
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

STEPS

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour Bundt or tube pan.

Mix flour, baking soda, salt, allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat oil, eggs, and sugar for 2 minutes at medium speed.

Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Beat well after each addition. Stir in prunes, pecans, and vanilla.

Pour batter into greased and floured pan. Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.

Make large holes in hot cake and pour topping into holes and over the cake gradually to allow absorption.

For the topping: Heat butter, buttermilk, corn syrup, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar and butter melt. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
