Trim the okra by removing the stem and calyx. Rub the okra with a pinch of salt on a cutting board, rinse with water, and pat dry. Place the okra and 1 tbsp of water in a microwave-safe container, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 1 minute. Rinse with cold water, pat dry, and cut diagonally in half.
