INGREDIENTS
Fish
- 150g smelt (about 10 pieces)
Vegetables
- đź§… 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 🥕 1/3 carrot, julienned
- 🥒 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
Coating
- Enough flour for coating
Oil
- Enough salad oil for frying
Marinade
- 1 chili, deseeded and sliced
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp vinegar
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- đź’§ 150ml water
STEPS
Thinly slice the onion, julienne the carrot, and slice the cucumber. Deseed and slice the chili.
Mix the marinade ingredients (chili, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and water) in a bowl.
Combine the sliced vegetables with the marinade in a separate bowl.
Coat the smelt with flour evenly.
Heat 3cm of salad oil in a pot to 160°C and fry the smelt for about 5 minutes.
Add the fried smelt to the marinated vegetables and let it soak for 10 minutes.
