INGREDIENTS
Cooking Oil
- Enough salad oil for frying
Lotus Root Meatballs
- 100g lotus root
- 100g ground pork
- đź§… 5cm green onion, minced
- 🥚 1 beaten egg
- đź§‚ Pinch of salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp potato starch
Black Vinegar Sauce
- 🍬 2 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp black vinegar
- 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/3 tsp chicken stock powder
- đź’§ 100ml water
Thickening Mixture
- 2 tsp potato starch
- đź’§ 1 tbsp water
STEPS
Mince the green onion. Place the lotus root in a plastic bag and crush it with a rolling pin. Add the remaining meatball ingredients and knead until sticky.
Shape the mixture into bite-sized balls. Heat 1cm of salad oil in a frying pan and fry the meatballs until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes.
Mix potato starch and water in a bowl. Heat the black vinegar sauce ingredients in a pot until boiling. Add the thickening mixture and cook until the sauce thickens. Coat the meatballs with the sauce.
