- 1/2 root (100g) lotus root

STEPS
Cut the lotus root into bite-sized pieces and soak in water. Drain well. Halve the garlic lengthwise, remove the core, and crush with the flat side of a knife.
Heat olive oil, garlic, salt, and red chili in a pot over low heat until fragrant. Add the mackerel can and lotus root, then cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
