INGREDIENTS

- 🥔 4 potatoes, peeled
- 3-4 tbsp potato starch
- 🧀 80g pizza cheese
Seasoning
- 🧈 10g butter
- 🧂 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 💧 2 tbsp water
- Adequate amount of cooking oil
STEPS
Peel the potatoes and place them in a pot with water covering 2/3 of their height.
Cover the pot and boil the potatoes on medium heat for 25-30 minutes until tender.
Mash the boiled potatoes in a bowl until smooth.
Add 3 tbsp potato starch to the mashed potatoes and mix until it forms a dough-like consistency.
Take a portion of the dough, shape it into a ball, and press your thumb to create a cavity.
Fill the cavity with pizza cheese and seal the dough around it.
Prepare the sauce by mixing soy sauce, sugar, mirin, and water in a bowl.
Heat a frying pan with adequate cooking oil on medium heat.
Place the potato mochi in the pan and fry for 5 minutes on one side.
Flip the mochi and fry for another 2 minutes.
Add the sauce and butter to the pan, shaking it slightly to coat the mochi evenly.
