Cut goya in half lengthwise, remove seeds and pith, and slice into 3mm pieces. Rub with salt (not listed in ingredients) until softened, rinse with water, and drain. Cut garlic in half lengthwise, remove the core, and crush with the flat side of a knife.

Cut boiled octopus into bite-sized pieces.

In a pot, heat olive oil, garlic, salt, and chili over low heat until fragrant. Add octopus and goya, then simmer over medium heat for about 3 minutes.
