INGREDIENTS
Seafood
- 🦑 1 squid (150g)
Batter
- 🌾 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- đź’§ 20 ml water
- 🥚 1 egg
Coating
- 🍞 Enough breadcrumbs to coat
Cooking Oil
- Enough vegetable oil for frying
Garnish
- 🍋 1 wedge of lemon
- Enough sauce for serving
STEPS
Clean the squid by removing the innards and tentacles gently. Cut the tentacles below the eyes, remove the beak and suckers, and wash thoroughly. Remove the cartilage and slice the body into 2cm rings. Cut the tentacles into bite-sized pieces.
Pat the squid dry with paper towels.
Mix the batter ingredients (flour, water, and egg) in a bowl. Dip the squid pieces into the batter and coat them with breadcrumbs.
Heat vegetable oil in a pot to 170°C (340°F). Fry the breaded squid pieces for about 3 minutes until golden brown.
Serve with sauce or a squeeze of lemon for added flavor.
