INGREDIENTS

- 🦑 1 large squid
- đź§… 1 onion
- 🥕 1/4 carrot
- 1 green onion
- 4 green chilies
Seasonings
- 5 tbsp red pepper flakes
- đź§„ 1.5 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp cooking wine
- 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 tbsp plum extract
- đź§‚ 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp anchovy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of black pepper
- A pinch of sesame seeds
STEPS
Prepare the sauce by mixing minced garlic, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, gochujang, cooking wine, plum extract, sugar, anchovy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper.
Heat a pan over medium heat and add 2 tbsp of cooking oil and half of the chopped green onion.
Add 5 tbsp of red pepper flakes and stir-fry for about 3 minutes to create a chili oil base.
Add the carrot, onion, and squid to the pan and stir-fry for 3 minutes over medium heat.
Pour 2/3 of the prepared sauce into the pan and stir-fry for another 3 minutes.
Add the green chilies and stir-fry briefly.
Pour 1/2 cup of water into the pan and stir-fry for 3 minutes to combine flavors.
Finish by adding the remaining green onion, sesame oil, and sesame seeds. Stir-fry for 1 minute.
