Add sugar, soy sauce, and water to the pan. Cook over high heat briefly, then reduce to medium-low heat and simmer for 5 minutes until the liquid reduces.

Add corn syrup and mix well. Optionally, add sesame oil for enhanced aroma. Turn off the heat.
