    • 🐟 1 fillet mackerel (140g)
    • 4 shishito peppers
    • 🍋 2 wedges lemon
    • 2 tbsp potato starch
    • 200cc salad oil
  • Seasoning

    • 1 tbsp sake
    • 1 tbsp mirin
    • 🧄 1/2 tsp grated garlic
    • 1/2 tsp grated ginger

Cut the mackerel into 6 equal pieces. Mix the seasoning ingredients in a bowl, add the mackerel, and let it marinate for 10 minutes.

Make a small incision in each shishito pepper.

Coat the mackerel pieces evenly with potato starch.

Heat the salad oil to 180°C in a pot. Fry the shishito peppers briefly, then fry the mackerel for 3–4 minutes until crispy.

Plate the mackerel and shishito peppers, and garnish with lemon wedges.
