INGREDIENTS
Wrapper
- 4 spring roll wrappers
Filling
- 1 piece hanpen (100g)
- đź§€ 30g shredded pizza cheese
- 2 pieces mentaiko (60g)
- 4 shiso leaves
Cooking Oil
- Enough salad oil for frying
Binder
- 1 tbsp flour
- đź’§ 1 tbsp water
STEPS
Trim the stems off the shiso leaves and cut them into thirds lengthwise.
Make a slit in the mentaiko and extract the contents.
Cut the spring roll wrappers into thirds.
Place mentaiko, shredded cheese, and hanpen in a plastic bag and knead until smooth to create the filling.
Place one piece of shiso leaf on a spring roll wrapper, pipe 1/12 of the filling onto it, fold diagonally three times, and seal with the flour-water mixture. Repeat to make 12 rolls.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan to 160°C (320°F), fry the rolls until golden brown, flipping occasionally, for about 3 minutes.
