INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 3 crab sticks
- đź§… 1/4 onion, sliced
- đź§„ 6 cloves garlic, sliced
- 0.5 handful chives, chopped
- 1 cup anchovy kelp stock
- 🍚 2 servings cooked white rice
Seasonings
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- đź§‚ 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp mirin
- đź§‚ A pinch of pepper
- đź§‚ A pinch of salt
Thickening Mixture
- 0.5 tbsp cornstarch
- đź’§ 1 tbsp water
STEPS
Tear the crab sticks into thin strips. Slice the onion and garlic. Chop the chives into 2–3 cm pieces.
Heat 2 tbsp of cooking oil in a pan over low heat and sauté the garlic slices until fragrant.
Add the crab sticks and sliced onion to the pan and stir-fry until the onion becomes translucent.
Add the chopped chives and stir briefly.
Pour 1 cup of anchovy kelp stock into the pan. If unavailable, substitute with water.
Season with 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tbsp mirin. Stir well.
Mix 0.5 tbsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water to create a slurry. Gradually add the slurry to the pan while stirring to thicken the sauce.
Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.
Serve the sauce over a bowl of cooked white rice. Enjoy your crab stick rice bowl!
