INGREDIENTS
Base Dough
- 🌾 2 cups of flour
- 🧈 1/2 cup of butter (chilled)
- 🧂 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 💧 1/4 cup of cold water
Filling
- 🍒 2 cups of cherries (pitted)
- 🧂 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 🍋 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
STEPS
Put the flour, salt, and cold butter into a bowl, and mix them while pinching the butter into crumbs with your fingertips.
Once the dough becomes crumbly, add cold water a little at a time and mix until everything comes together. Wrap it in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice to make the filling.
Take the dough out of the refrigerator and divide it in half. Roll one half to the size of your pie dish and line the dish with it.
Spread the filling evenly over the lined dough, then place the other sheet of dough over the top and seal the edges.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes. It's ready when the surface turns golden brown.
