INGREDIENTS
Protein
- 500g pork belly block
Vegetables
- 1 stalk green onion (green part)
- 1 slice ginger
Seasonings
- 100cc sake
- 50cc soy sauce
- 50g rock sugar
- 3 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 piece star anise
- 600cc water
STEPS
Cut the pork belly into 5cm wide pieces.
Heat a pot over medium heat and sear the pork belly until browned on all sides.
Turn off the heat, remove excess oil with a paper towel, and add green onion, ginger, and all seasonings. Bring to a boil over high heat.
Skim off any foam, place a drop lid, and simmer over low heat until the liquid reduces to about 1/3 (approximately 30-40 minutes).
