INGREDIENTS
Rice
- 🍚 400g cooked rice
Meat
- 🥩 200g beef shoulder steak
Vegetables
- 🌱 3 asparagus spears, 60g
- 🧄 2 cloves garlic
Seasonings
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp salad oil
Garlic Rice Seasonings
- 1 tbsp sake
- 🧂 1 tsp soy sauce
- 🧂 Pinch of black pepper
- 🧈 20g salted butter
Steak Sauce
- 2 tbsp whole-grain mustard
- 🧂 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 🍋 1 tbsp lemon juice
STEPS
Season the beef with salt and pepper.
Peel the bottom third of the asparagus and cut into 1cm pieces. Thinly slice the garlic. Mix the steak sauce ingredients in a bowl.
Heat salad oil and garlic in a pan over medium-low heat until crispy, then remove the garlic. Add the beef and cook for 2 minutes on each side until browned. Wrap in foil and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice into bite-sized pieces.
In the same pan, sauté the asparagus over medium heat until coated in oil.
Add the rice to the pan and stir-fry until coated in oil. Add the garlic rice seasonings and stir until the rice is fluffy. Mix in half of the crispy garlic.
Plate the garlic rice, top with the steak slices, sprinkle with the remaining garlic, and drizzle with the steak sauce.
