Yakitori and Mochi Pouch Grilled

    • 1 piece (50g) mochi, diced
    • 1 can (75g) yakitori
    • 2 pieces (40g) aburaage
  • Vegetables

    • đź§… 1/2 stalk white part of green onion, sliced
    • đź§… Chopped green onion, as needed
  • Seasoning

    • 1 tbsp sake
    • 1 tsp soy sauce

Dice the mochi into 1cm cubes. Cut aburaage in half and open into pouches. Slice the green onion thinly.

Separate the yakitori from its sauce. Mix the sauce with sake and soy sauce to create a marinade.

Stuff each aburaage pouch with 1/4 portion of mochi, yakitori, and green onion. Secure the opening with a toothpick. Repeat for all 4 pouches.

Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Place the pouches in the pan and cook until browned on both sides. Cover with a lid and cook on low heat for 10–12 minutes until the mochi softens.

Add the marinade to the pan and simmer until the pouches are coated with the sauce.

Plate the pouches and garnish with chopped green onion.
