  • Main Ingredients

    • 150g ground meat (beef and pork mix)
    • 🍅 2 tomatoes (400g)
    • 🧅 1/2 onion (100g), minced
    • 🧄 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 🧀 1 slice melting cheese
    • Chopped parsley, a pinch
  • Hamburg Seasoning

    • 🥛 2 tbsp milk
    • 🧂 A pinch of salt
    • A pinch of pepper
  • Tomato Sauce Seasoning

    • 2 tbsp ketchup
    • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/4 tsp consomme

STEPS

1

Remove the stem from the tomatoes and cut them in half horizontally. Scoop out the insides of the stemless halves with a spoon and set aside. Dice the remaining tomatoes into 1cm cubes and combine with the scooped-out insides. Mince the onion and divide into two portions. Mince the garlic after removing its core.

2

Cut the melting cheese slice into quarters.

3

In a bowl, mix the ground meat, half of the minced onion, garlic, and the Hamburg seasonings. Divide into two portions and shape into patties. Stuff the patties into the hollowed-out tomatoes and shape them neatly.

4

Place the stuffed tomatoes on a heatproof dish and top each with cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 15 minutes until cooked through.

5

In a frying pan, heat the remaining tomatoes and onion over medium-low heat. Add the tomato sauce seasonings and simmer for 8-10 minutes until the liquid evaporates and the sauce thickens.

6

Pour the tomato sauce around the sides of the baked tomato hamburg steaks. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
