INGREDIENTS
Meat
- 🥓 2 slices bacon
Vegetables
- 3 taro (200g)
- 🧄 1 clove garlic
Oils and Fats
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 🧈 5g salted butter
Liquids
- 200cc water
Seasonings
- Pinch of pepper
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 🧂 1/3 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp consomme
STEPS
Peel the taro and place it in a bowl. Add 1 tsp salt (not listed in ingredients) and rub well. Wash with water, drain, and cut into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice the garlic and remove the core using a toothpick.
Cut the bacon into 1cm wide strips.
Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add garlic and bacon, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add taro, water, and the seasoning mix (sugar, salt, soy sauce, consomme). Stir well, cover with a drop lid, and simmer for about 10 minutes until taro is tender. Add butter and mix to coat.
Serve in a bowl and sprinkle with pepper.
