    • 8 sweet chestnuts
    • 1/2 lotus root

    • 1 tbsp salad oil
  • Liquid

    • 2 tbsp sake
    • 2 tbsp soy sauce
    • 3 tbsp sweet chestnut syrup

Cut the lotus root into bite-sized pieces and soak in water to remove excess starch. Drain well. Cut the chicken thigh into bite-sized pieces.

Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat and add the chicken pieces. Stir-fry until the chicken changes color.

Add the lotus root to the pan and stir-fry briefly over medium heat.

Add the sweet chestnuts and the seasoning ingredients (sake, soy sauce, sweet chestnut syrup). Cover with a drop lid and simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes.

Remove the drop lid and heat over medium heat for another 5 minutes to thicken the sauce. Serve on a plate and garnish with chopped green onion.
