Spicy Simmered Yellowtail and Daikon

INGREDIENTS

  • Fish

    • 🐟 200g yellowtail fillets
  • Vegetables

    • 🥬 300g daikon radish, sliced
    • 1 piece ginger, julienned
    • Chili threads, as needed
  • Seasonings

    • 200cc water
    • 2 tbsp sake
    • 2 tbsp mirin
    • 🧂 1/2 tbsp sugar
    • 2 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tbsp gochujang

Peel the daikon radish thickly, cut in half, and slice into 2cm thick half-moons. Julienne the ginger.

Cut the yellowtail fillets into thirds.

In a pot, combine the seasoning ingredients (water, sake, mirin, sugar, soy sauce, gochujang) and half of the ginger. Heat over medium heat until boiling, then add the yellowtail. Cover and simmer on low heat for 6-7 minutes. Remove the yellowtail.

Add the daikon radish to the same pot, cover, and simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes until the daikon becomes tender.

Return the yellowtail to the pot, cover, and simmer for 1 minute. Serve on a plate, garnish with the remaining ginger and chili threads.
